Chiclana de la Frontera is a charming town located in the province of Cádiz, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Costa de la Luz, Spain. It is renowned for its beauty with protected nature parks, stunning beaches and wonderful sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean, historic sites, and delicious cuisine. The literal translation of the “Costa De La Luz” is “The Coast of Light” for a very good reason. With over 300 days of sunshine and clear blue seas this region shines like no other. This region remains as it was intended, unspoilt and typically Spanish. The beaches of La Barrosa are the envy of the region and extend for 8 kms. White sand, backed by dunes and pine trees they extend to rocky points and wrap around to the estuary and marina of Sancti Petri. 

Attractions:

1. Playa de la Barrosa: One of the most famous beaches in Chiclana de la Frontera, Playa de la Barrosa offers golden sands and clear waters and is recognised with Blue Flag status. It's perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and water sports. 

2. Puerto de Sancti Petri and Playa de Sancti Petri: The Port and surrounding area is an ideal place to spend your time enjoying watersport activities, relaxing on the beach or enjoying the local cuisine in the many restaurants and Chiringuitos (beach restaurants). During the summer period there is a concert music festival arena set up that hosts many international and national stars, which then transforms into a late-night music and dance venue presented by international DJ´s. 

3. Sancti Petri Castle: Take a boat ride or a kayak to this ancient castle, which dates back to the 13th century and sits on an islet near the coast. It offers stunning views of the surrounding area and is a great spot for history enthusiasts. 

4. Torre del Puerco: This watchtower is located on the beach of La Barrosa. It's a historical landmark and offers panoramic views of the coastline. 

5. Bodegas: Explore the local wine culture by visiting one of the many Bodegas, a winery where you can learn about the winemaking process and sample some of the region's finest wines. 

6. Parque Natural Bahía de Cádiz: Nature lovers will enjoy exploring this natural park, which is home to diverse flora and fauna. You can go for hikes, birdwatching, or simply relax amidst nature.

1. Carnival: If you visit in February, don't miss the vibrant Carnival celebrations, featuring colorful parades, music, and dancing. 

2. Feria de San Antonio: This annual fair takes place in June and celebrates the patron saint of Chiclana de la Frontera with traditional music, dancing, and delicious food, which goes through to early morning. 

3. Semana Santa: Experience the processions and religious festivities of Holy Week, which takes place in the week leading up to Easter Sunday. 

4. Concert Music Festival: Located next to the port of Sancti Petri and with over forty International and national artists appearing from the end of June until late August there is something for everyone.
